Library Procedures:
- Check-Out Procedures: All classes visit the library weekly, at the same scheduled time each week. TK-2nd grade students may check out one book each library visit. 3rd-5th grade students may check out up to two books each library visit. Students may also check out an additional title for research, if needed. All check-outs are for one week. Students may renew a book for an extra week by placing a renewal request note from their classroom in the book.
- Check-In Procedures: Books are due no later than the morning of their class library visit, though preferentially the day before. Students should place returned books in the drop box at the library circulation desk.
- Overdue, Lost, and Damaged Books: Students who have overdue books may not check out other books until the overdue books are returned. Lost books must be paid for in full or replaced with a new copy of the book. A bill will be sent home to the student's family, and checks should be made payable to 'Deer Canyon Elementary School.' Any book that is damaged will be assessed as to whether the book can be repaired or must be replaced. Replacement procedures will be the same as those for lost books.
