Student Health
Deer Canyon has a Health Attendant on site to provide first aid and respond to emergencies.

If a student becomes ill during school hours, the health attendant will notify parents or the emergency contact listed on the enrollment form.

Please note: Registered nursing services are not available on a daily basis at the school.
Keeping Everyone Healthy
To help prevent the spread of illness and keep our school community healthy, please follow these PUSD guidelines:

Students must be fever, diarrhea, and vomit-free for at least 24 hours without medication before returning to school.

Students with symptoms of an upper respiratory infection should stay home if they have:

Persistent purulent (discolored) nasal discharge

A productive or excessive cough

Illness that makes them too uncomfortable to function in class

Students may return when:

They are symptom-free for 24 hours OR
-
They provide a written medical release from a health care provider.

State law requires the following documentation for all new students entering a California public school.
